TENSION AND LIBERATION
AN UNDERGROUND CONVERSATION ON MODERN TATTOOING
Backpiece from @lucyarbeit's "Protection, Strength, Power" series - USA / On the Road
Quick note about the 21 Artists issue: It was brought to my attention that several platforms clipped it short, due to the length. You can see the full issue here: tattrx.com/underground
TENSION AND LIBERATION
I'm captivated by pieces that show struggle, tension, the urge to break free. It's about barriers ripping down, figures opening up, the pressure and release that comes with liberation.
To mark these moments on a body forever is to capture an epiphany, and freeze it in time. It embodies that instant when you're free-falling with both terror and excitement of the unknown.
